Fireplace with Upper Section, Crown Molding and Hearth

The client had a very specific vision of what she wanted and we worked together to create this focal point in her great room. The terra cotta closely mimics the color and texture of limestone.

"Recently while planning a remodel for my great room I made the decision to turn my fireplace from "plain jane" into the focal point it was always meant to be. I commissioned a custom fireplace surround including a hearth and top piece from Nettie Penman at Blackbird Clay Studio. Working closely with Nettie, we were able to create a design that sets the tone for my entire home. It not only gives the space a gorgeous, one-of-a-kind custom look, but the fireplace itself truly does have that incredible WOW factor that I was looking for. Nettie and her team were a joy to work with and I couldn't be happier. Next up - the master bedroom suite!"

Woodstove Mural and Base

"Tree of Life" wall mural - 7 x 7' base - 5' radius. The client requested a Tree of Life wall mural and raised base to surround a wood burning stove in a casual mountain home. The design was a collaboration between the client and Blackbird Clay Studio and was inspired by a Klimt painting and a design on a baseball cap! Please click on the image to see the mural details.

Gas fireplace surround with hearth and mantle. Approximately 60" x 56". The design was inspired by a decorative arched opening in an adobe wall located in Santa Fe.

15" x 15"- This sign is reproducible and is available in deep terra cotta (shown), in a buff color, and many colors in between. It can be made either with or without the top shelf.

Garden Bench

Titled "Inner Spring." 36" x 26" x 44" - This outdoor garden bench was inspired by an old English stone bench. During the design phase the Simmons inner spring sofa that sat in my childhood living room crept its way onto the sketchpad. The result is this fringed, buttoned, diamond-tufted version.
